COURSE OVERVIEW
DEVELOP a KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING on the FUNDAMENTALS of METALLURGY on this SELF STUDY training course.
The course is suitable for candidates in ALL FUNCTIONS & at ALL LEVELS & would be IDEAL for anyone that is new to Metallurgy as NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of Metallurgy is required & there are NO SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
The OVERALL SCOPE of the COURSE includes the following:
Crystalline structure of metals.
Wrought products; cast products ; heat treatments.
Metallography & the macrostructural & microstructural examination of metals & alloys.
The typical product standards, grades, manufacture, properties & applications for a wide range of metals & alloys including: Steel (structural steel; low alloy & alloy steel and tool steel); Stainless Steel; Cast Iron; Aluminium Alloys; Copper Alloys, Nickel alloys & Titanium alloys.
The principles of the widely specified mechanical tests for the determination of mechanical properties of metal products: Tensile Test; Charpy Impact Test & Hardness Test.
Certification of Metal Products to BS EN 10204
A COMPREHENSIVE, FULL-COLOUR TRAINING HANDBOOK is provided on the course, which also serves an EXCELLENT REFERENCE following completion of the training.
There is an Assessment at the end of the training & candidates who achieve the required standard will be awarded a CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT & CPD 15 HOURS.
SELF STUDY
The course is completed by SELF STUDY, which provides a FLEXIBLE route for candidates to START & PROGRESS through the training at ANYTIME, ANYWHERE & at their OWN PACE. Total estimated SELF STUDY time required to complete the course is 15 HOURS. The START DATE for the training would follow receipt of payment of the course fees. All course materials would be posted & e-mailed to the candidate.
During their progression through the course, candidates also have the support of our HIGHLY EXPERIENCED & PROFESSIONALLY QUALIFIED COURSE TUTOR.
TUTOR SUPPORT
During their progression through the SELF STUDY course, the candidate also has the option to request a TUTORIAL SESSION with the COURSE TUTOR of up to 2 HOURS DURATION. The aim of the Session, which would be arranged ONLINE or by PHONE, would be to review any issues the candidate may have on their understanding of the course material.
